Eva Ingemarsson

Eva Ingemarsson is active as a choreographer and artistic director for Eva Ingemarsson Dance Production and the stage Atalante in Gothenburg. Atalante has been an important swedish forum for contemporary stage art with dance as it´s focus since it was started in 1987.

Between 1978-1987 she worked with several installation- and outdoor performances that drew a lot of attention. Parallel to this she was touring with performances for children and adults.

For many years Eva Ingemarsson has been a central part of the swedish dance scene and 1998 she started Eva Ingemarsson Dance Production. Here she works with different combinations of artists, dancers, composers and visual artists. As a way to explore and deepen scenic expressions and perspectives Eva has worked with photo and film projections in her dance performances for many years. Dance, filmed interviews, still photo projections, video, and microphones to enhance the dancers voices is integrated to a whole. Her interest for the human being and the lust to change and deepen the scenic expression is the driving force behind her work.

Eva Ingemarssons work is funded by the Swedish state and the city of Gothenburg. She has received several scholarships from, among others, The Swedish Arts Grants Committee, The City of Gothenburgs culture scholarship, The Region of Västra Götaland, Sällskapet Gnistan, The Wikander family foundation. In 2012 she was granted the Swedish Atrs Grants Committees ten year scholarship.

Eva Ingemarssons performances has been staged around Sweden, but also internationally in China, Russia, Morocco, Armenia, Mexico, Lithuania and Finland.

Eva Ingemarsson verkar som koreograf och konstnärlig ledare för Eva Ingemarsson Dansproduktion och scenen Atalante i Göteborg som sedan starten 1987 varit ett viktigt svenskt forum för nutida scenkonst med dansen i centrum.

Eva Ingemarsson tillhör sedan 35 år det etablerade svenska danslivet. Under många år arbetade hon med olika typer av installations- och utomhusföreställningar parallellt med turnerande vuxen- och barnverksamhet. 1987 grundade hon tillsammans med gruppen Rubicon, scenen Unga Atalante. Scenen bytte sedan skepnad och namn till Atalante 1998, och i samband med detta startades Eva Ingemarsson Dansproduktion.

Eva Ingemarsson arbetar med att regelbundet skapa och sätta upp större helaftonsverk på hemmascenen Atalante och för turnéer. I sitt arbete utforskar hon koreografi och rörelse i mötet med det skulpturala och arkitektoniska rummet. En viktig del i det koreografiska arbetet är att låta dokumentära intervjuer från aktörerna blandas med stillbilds- och filmprojiceringar, ofta direkt på dansarnas kroppar, för att förändra och fördjupa det sceniska uttrycket och perspektiven.

Eva Ingemarssons föreställningsverksamhet uppbär statliga och kommunala verksamhetsbidrag. Hon har erhållit ett flertal konstnärsstipendier från bland annat Konstnärsnämnden, Göteborgs Stad Kulturstipendium, Västra Götalandsregionen, Sällskapet Gnistan och Familjen Wikanders Stiftelser. År 2012 tilldelades hon Konstnärsnämndens 10 åriga långtidsstipendium.

Eva Ingemarssons föreställningar har spelats runt om i Sverige men även internationellt såsom i Kina, Ryssland, Marocko, Armenien, Mexiko, Litauen och Finland.
